Measure the change.

Determining the biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of potential therapeutics and diagnostic probes is a pivotal first step in the discovery process. Early studies must characterize the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of novel drugs. 

MSOT can be used to acquire real-time whole-body cross-sectional images that can be used to determine drug localization and biological half life. An analysis of probe uptake and clearance can thereby be performed rapidly and with ease.
